You may register logos with the Secretary of State in the state where your company is based. This protects your rights within that state, so the logo cannot be copied by brands in other states. The most expensive option is to file a trademark application with the USPTO.

The Standard license gives you the right to use the image in perpetuity, in any medium and geographic location, and as many designs as you wish, without ever having to pay royalties for said use. Most standard licenses allow for print and digital usage, but they establish a limit of reproductions you can make.

A brand licensing agreement is a legal contract between a branded company selling the use of their imagery, logo, or what is called "marks" to another company. This agreement allows a company to use a logo or other trademarks in marketing products or services without infringing on a copyright.

Extended licenses come with unlimited copies and the possibility of using the image in a design you will then resell for profit.

A unique logo can be trademarked by registering it with the USPTO. Anyone can apply online on the USPTO website if the business for which they're authorized to file is principally located inside the U.S. If based outside the U.S., a patent attorney will be required to make the filing.
