Click the Insert tab and then click the Quick Parts dropdown in the Text group. From the dropdown, choose Fields (Figure A). The resulting dialog lists the Word fields in the Field Names list, which you can filter using the Categories list.

Add individual merge fields Click or tap where you want the merge field. Choose the down-arrow under Insert Merge Field, and select a field. Click in the Name Box and type in the Merge Field tag (without angle brackets) Merge Field information can be found in Settings > Documents > Document Template Merge Fields.Hit Enter on your keyboard to save the Merge Field tag in the Name Box.

In the properties panel, expand the Conditional Fields section and click Create Rule. Select the fields you want to show to the recipient when they trigger the rule. You can select as many fields as you like, of any type, as long as they are assigned to the same recipient as the trigger field.

Now, Word does not have a Conditional Formatting button like in Excel, but you can write an IF function in the field and format the true and false responses. This will create the perfect Conditional Formatting behaviour.

Add a conditional field to a service project Go to Settings ( ) > Issues. From the navigation on the left, select Custom fields. Select Create custom field in the top-right corner. Choose Select List (cascading), and then select Next. Name your field, and add a description if desired. Select Create.
