Consolidate Photo Permit For Free

If you have a mix of one or more iPhoto libraries and Photos libraries that you would like to merge together, there is no way to directly merge an iPhoto library into a Photos library, or vice versa. What you can do instead is to first migrate the iPhoto libraries that you want to merge over to Photos libraries.

You can copy referenced files into your photo library so they're easier to back up and are automatically stored in iCloud if iCloud Photos is turned on. In the Photos app on your Mac, select the files that you want to copy into the photo library. Choose File > Consolidate.

You can create additional photo libraries to organize your photos, albums, and projects, and then switch between the libraries. For example, you could keep separate libraries for personal photos and work photos.

Use more than one library Quit iPhoto. Hold down the Option key as you open iPhoto. In the window that appears, click Create New. Type a name and choose a location to store the new photo library. Click Save. The iPhoto Source list shows your new, empty photo library. Any photos you import are added to this library.

Merge the libraries in iCloud by uploading them to the same iCloud Photo Library: Merging in iCloud is the only way to preserve the master-version pairs, so you can revert edited photos to the original versions. Your albums and folders will migrate, keywords, titles, and other metadata.

Most likely this library is a library created when you first opened photos and it will have migrated the most recently opened iPhoto Library or Aperture Library. If you have plenty of iCloud Storage you could enable iCloud Photo Library.
