Open the desired document. From the Page Layout tab, in the Page Background group, click WATERMARK. From the Watermark sub-menu, select Custom Watermark... Select Picture watermark. Click SELECT PICTURE... Using the Look in pull-down list, locate and select the desired image file. Click INSERT.

Choose Design > Watermark. In the Insert Watermark box, select Text, and then choose DRAFT.

Click on Page Layout tab. In the ribbon, click on Watermark. A vertical scroll list of six watermarks will appear with a set of menu options below. From the menu options, select Custom Watermark.

Select where you want the watermark to be on the page. Select Design > Watermark > right-click the watermark you want, and select Insert at Current Document Position. The watermark appears as a text box.

The idea behind watermarking is simple. By including a semi-transparent line of text, symbol or logo into an image, you make it clear that the rights to it belong to a specific photographer or company, and that it cannot simply be used without authorization.
