Select the Review tab on the ribbon. Select the Resolve button. Comments can also be resolved by right-clicking them and selecting Resolve Comment from the contextual menu. For Office Online, comments are resolved by clicking the three dots in the upper corner of the comment and clicking Resolve Thread.

Select the text or item that you want to comment on, or click to insert the cursor near the text that you want to comment on. On the Review tab, under Comments, click New. Type the comment text in the comment balloon.

There are two ways you can delete or remove comments from a Word document: To delete a single comment in the document, right-click the comment, and choose Delete Comment.
