A 10 per cent increase to the Old Age Security (OAS) pension for seniors 75 years and older, which began in July 2022, and will provide more than $800 in new support to full pensioners over the first year, and increase benefits for more than three million seniors.

The OAS payment amount is increasing in 2022. Seniors who are 75 years and older as of July 2022 will see a permanent increase of 10% to their Old Age Security pension. There was also a 2.8% increase in the monthly OAS pension based on quarterly indexation to the CPI (for July-September).

Your payment amount is based on the number of years in Canada divided by 40. You can delay your first payment up to 5 years to get a higher amount. If you lived in Canada for 20 years after age 18, you would receive a payment equal to 20 divided by 40, or 50%, of the full Old Age Security pension.

You can view and print copies of your T4E for Employment Insurance (EI) and your T4A/NR4 for Canada Pension Plan (CPP) and Old Age Security (OAS) in MSCA. To do so, register for MSCA and select Tax slips. This service gives you access to your tax slips for the current year and the past 6 years.
