Page breaks are used to end a page without filling it with text. To make sure the title page of your thesis/dissertation is separate from the signature page, for example, insert a page break after the graduation date on the title page.

PC: Ctrl + c for Copy, Ctrl + x for Cut, and Ctrl + v for Paste. Mac: ? + c for Copy, ? + x for Cut, and ? + v for Paste.

Since the section breaks are hidden by default in Word, you need to show the formatting marks to see them. Press the Pilcrow (¶) button in the Paragraph section from the Home tab. The section breaks show up in the document so that you can identify and remove them.

Word automatically adds a break at the end of each page. You can also insert a manual page break anytime you want to start a new page in your document. Put your cursor where you want one page to end and the next to begin. Go to Insert > Page Break.

You can use section breaks to change the layout or formatting of pages in your document. To change formatting in a document, insert a section break at the beginning of where you want the change. Set up the formatting change just past the new section break.

There are four types of Section Breaks in Microsoft Word: Next Page, Continuous, Even Page, and Odd Page. The opposite of Page Breaks, Section Breaks ?break? the text and the formatting. This is ideal for changing the layout or formatting for certain pages or areas in your document.

Insert your page (Insert > Blank Page) before pasting the contents onto that page (Ctrl+V or right-click > Keep Source Formatting). The single page will then be duplicated, creating an exact copy of the original page.

Paste Special options Select the cells that contain the data or other attributes that you want to copy. On the Home tab, click Copy . Click the first cell in the area where you want to paste what you copied. On the Home tab, click the arrow next to Paste, and then select Paste Special. Select the options you want.

Insert a section break Select where you want a new section to begin. Go to Layout > Breaks, and then choose the type of section break you want. Next Page Starts the new section on the following page. Continuous Starts the new section on the same page.

To copy section formatting (such as margin settings and newsletter-style columns), first switch to normal view. Then, select the section break at the end of the section with the formats you want to copy. Next, copy the section break to a new location; the text above the new section break takes on its formatting.
