While there isn't a feature for automatically exporting a conversation, you can save an entire iPhone text conversations for later review and enjoyment using a workaround in the Messages app. To preserve a text chain with total fidelity to its original appearance, a series of screenshots may be your best option.

When you open the app, you'll see a list of conversations. Tap and hold a chat bubble in the conversation. A menu will pop up at your finger. Tap Copy text.

Place the cursor on the line you wish to copy. Type yy to copy the line. Move the cursor to the place you wish to insert the copied line. Type p to insert the copied line after the current line on which the cursor is resting or type P to insert the copied line before the current line.

Click the 'Messages' tab and locate the contact whose conversation you wish to print. Click the contact's name to view that conversation. Hit 'Print'.

Click the file you want to copy to select it, or drag your mouse across multiple files to select them all. Press Ctrl + C to copy the files. Go to the folder into which you want to copy the files. Press Ctrl + V to paste in the files.

Sending messages to email using an Android device Open your messaging app and select the conversation you want to send to email. Tap and hold the message until the options menu appears. Click Share.
