Copy Number Diploma For Free

The paper diploma from a US university is considered purely ceremonial and not used for any official purpose; it often doesn't even have complete information about the degree (major, honors, etc). For most US universities, the only official academic record they produce is the transcript.

Bear in mind that a high school diploma is not the same thing as a high school transcript. In many cases, a diploma does not count as the official academic record of your high school education, though it does prove you graduated.

If you graduated from high school, contact the school district from which you graduated to request your diploma and transcript.

A simple phone call or email to the correct contact person at your school should set the process in motion. Once you've communicated with the main/registrar's office, you can request a copy of your diploma directly. The staff may request that you provide identification or pay a small fee for a copy of your diploma.

The final transcript should show all work completed and the conferral date of the degree. This also serves as your degree confirmation. When you request a final transcript from your institution, verify that the transcript states the date that the degree was conferred or awarded.

Contact the school or District Office. Each district maintains and follows a records retention policy. They may offer a copy of a Diploma but are not required. If the school is closed, records go to the current High School in that District.

By mail: Print and fill out the Student Records Request Form. Include a copy of your photo ID with your signature. Include your contact information. Use the School Finder tool to find your school's mailing address. Mail the form to your school, with a photocopy of your ID.

Each school's process of requesting a copy of a diploma or transcript will vary. But in most cases, a form is completed. The form might ask for your name, address, telephone number, social security number, and student number. There might be a fee required for a copy.

Call or email the school district directly and tell them that you need a copy of your diploma. Again, they should have records for every student that went to school in your district. They should be able to send you a copy of your diploma no problem.
