Cut Footnote Title For Free

Highlight all the footnotes and copy the footnotes to the clipboard by pressing Ctrl+C.

If you want to change the formatting of the footnote text at the bottom of the page, select the Footnote Text Style. Click Modify, and then change the formatting options (font, size, and so on). For even more formatting options, click the Format button in the lower-left corner.

To cut or copy a footnote or endnote Select the footnote or endnote number or mark. Click one of the following: 2022 Edit. Cut. 2022 Edit. Copy. In the document, click where you want to paste the footnote or endnote.

Remove a footnote If you want to delete the footnote (that's at the bottom of the page), delete the number 1 in the body. When you do that, the footnote itself disappears. Another way you can do this is to right-click the footnote at the bottom of the page, select Go to Footnote and then delete the number there.

To break up footnotes in Word: Open your Word document. Select your footnote. Right-click and press Paragraph. Select the Line and Page Breaks tab. Uncheck the Keep lines together checkbox. Press Set as Default (if desired) and then press OK to save.

Move a footnote or an endnote To move or copy a note, you work with the note reference mark in the document window, not with the text of the note. Select the note reference mark. Drag the mark to the new location.

Copying and Moving Footnotes Highlight the footnote reference mark in your document. Press Ctrl+C. The footnote reference mark and the associated footnote are copied to the Clipboard. Position the insertion point at the location where you want to copy the footnote. Press Ctrl+V.

For subsequent citations, use a shortened version of the footnote, which includes: Author's last name (for edited works, use the editor's last name, but omit the "ed." after the name) Shortened form of title (2-4 words; omit initial articles such as A, An, or The from the title) Page number (when available)
