Edit a drop-down list with items that have been entered manually. On the worksheet where you applied the drop-down list, select a cell that has the drop-down list. Go to Data > Data Validation. On the Settings tab, click in the Source box, and then change your list items as needed.

From the DATA tab, select Data Validation. Click Data Validation in the drop-down list. In the dialog box, select List from the Allow drop-down menu.

Place your cursor in the document where you want to add the drop-down list. Go to the Developer tab and click the Drop-Down List Content Control button. You'll see the control pop into your document as a box with ?Choose an item.? inside. You can then move onto setting up the list.

Copy Pasting Drop-Down Lists in Excel Copy the cell that has the drop down. Select the cells where you want to copy the drop down. Go to Home ?> Paste ?> Paste Special. In the Paste Special dialogue box, select Validation in Paste options. Click OK.

Select the cell containing the drop-down list you want to copy. Press CTRL + c which is the short cut keys to copy a cell. Select the cell range you want to copy the drop-down list to. Right-click on the selected cell range and click on Paste or press CTRL + v to paste the copied cell to the selected cell range.

Please do as follows to copy Excel drop down list to Word document. Open the worksheet contains the drop down list you want to copy to Word document. Select the drop down list cell and copy it by pressing the Ctrl + C keys simultaneously. Go to the Word document, click Home > Paste > Paste Special.

Press Alt + Q keys simultaneously to close the Microsoft Visual Basic Applications window. From now on, when click on a drop down list cell, the drop down list will prompt automatically. You can start to type in the letter to make the corresponding item complete automatically in selected cell.
