If, within the time frame of this warranty (90 days after installation for Five-Star floors; 60 days after installation for Four-Star floors) and after 30 days of living on your new floor, you wish to change your floor for any reason, your retailer will replace it with another style or color of flooring of equal value.

Wear warranties differ across retailers and types of laminate, and some wear warranties exclude coverage for scratches, indentations and damage resulting from improper care and maintenance. For laminate flooring, a stain warranty typically covers stains that result from common household use.

For example, when you buy a new car from a car dealer, the warranty states that the car works. If the car doesn't work, the warranty gives the owner the right to have the dealer fix the car under certain conditions (length of time, cause of damage, etc.). These conditions are typically spelled out in the warranty.

Laminate floors need to be swept or vacuumed often to keep them clean. Dirt is an enemy to laminate since it scratches and dulls the finish of the floor. However, sweeping or vacuuming improperly can do more damage to your laminate than the dirt.
