Design Warranty For Free

A workmanship warranty provides homeowners with coverage against workmanship or installation errors. This type of warranty generally covers about one year following the completion of the work.

Warranties may be used to provide assurance from one party to another that goods and/or services will meet certain expectations, e.g. fit for purpose, being free from defects, complying with statutory and other regulations and specifications. A warranty can be either express (i.e. written) or implied.

The length of workmanship warranties varies from contractor to contractor. They usually go from 2, 5, 10, or 25 years. Some companies even give lifetime warranties. As long as the materials on your roof hold up, so should your contractor's workmanship.

Design life warranties expressly set out in the contract An express design life warranty precisely sets out the length of the design life for each component of the equipment, plant, building or structure; any obligations on the parties for the term of that design life; and any qualifiers on the warranty.

That the design services included as part of the Work furnished by Contractor or any Subcontractors hereunder shall be free from any defects in achieving the design requirements set forth in the Statement of Work (the Design Warranty).

This warranty is your coverage against workmanship, or installation errors.So while your material may carry a 25 year, 30 year or lifetime warranty, it doesn't mean the workmanship is guaranteed as long. Typically, a contractor will warranty his work for a year or more.
