Select the shape you want to add a comment to, or click a blank area of the page so nothing is selected to add a comment to the page. On the Review tab, in the Comments group, click New Comment and type your comment.

Your diagram data is secure and private diagrams.net is a unique security-first diagramming tool in that we provide the application platform, but your diagram data only lives in your browser on your local device while you are working on it.

Onto the flowchart in the desired location, then double-click the flowchart icon to open the Comment Icon Properties, from there you can type in your comment into the box. Once your information has been inputted click 'OK' and the information will be displayed along side the Comment icon on the flowchart.

Install the diagrams.net Google Docs add-on Open a document, or create a new document. Click Add-ons > Get Add-ons. Search for diagrams and click on diagrams.net for Docs. Follow the prompts to grant diagrams.net (draw.io) permission to access your Google Documents and files on Google Drive.

Hover over the diagram, and you'll see the grey toolbar appear at the bottom of the diagram. Click on the little comment symbol. The comment box will appear to the side of your diagram. To add a new comment, click on the little plus symbol (+), enter your comment in the text field, and click Save.

Tip: Double click on text to edit the text and select part of a label. Then, only the Text tab is displayed (right) as you are not editing a shape. Compare the different style options below when a shape is selected (left) and when a connector is selected (right).
