Deleting All Footnotes Press Ctrl+H to display the Replace tab of the Find and Replace dialog box. (See Figure 1.) In the Find What box, enter ^f. This indicates that you want to search for footnote marks. Make sure the Replace With box is empty. Click on Replace All. Close the Find and Replace dialog box.

First, press Ctrl+H to open the Find and Replace dialog box. Then, type ^f for footnotes or ^e for endnotes in the Find what field; this is Word's code for identifying note reference marks. Leave the Replace with field blank, and click on Replace All to delete all the notes in your document.

Adding footnotes and captions Click a title, cell, or caption within an activated pivot table. From the Insert menu choose Footnote. Insert the footnote text in the provided area.

Remove a footnote If you want to delete the footnote (that's at the bottom of the page), delete the number ?1? in the body. When you do that, the footnote itself disappears. Another way you can do this is to right-click the footnote at the bottom of the page, select Go to Footnote and then delete the number there.

If you want to change the formatting of the footnote text at the bottom of the page, select the Footnote Text Style. Click Modify, and then change the formatting options (font, size, and so on). For even more formatting options, click the Format button in the lower-left corner.

Choose Footnote from the Insert menu. You will see the Footnote and Endnote dialog box. Choose the Custom Mark radio button. In the box to the right of Custom Mark, enter the character (or characters) you want used for the custom footnote mark.

A FOOTNOTE statement takes effect when the step or RUN group with which it is associated executes. After you specify a footnote for a line, SAS repeats the same footnote on all pages until you cancel or redefine the footnote for that line.

The command you need is: \footnote{text} . Do not leave a space between the command and the word where you wish the footnote marker to appear, otherwise LaTeX will process that space and will leave the output not looking as intended. Creating a footnote is easy.

This happens when the final line on a page contains a footnote reference, and the paragraph has the ?Widow/Orphan control? setting switched on, and where having the footnote on the same page as its reference would force that line onto the next page, breaking the ?Widow/Orphan control? rule.

Remove or change a footnote or endnote separator The Footnotes pane appears at the bottom of your document. You can edit the color or style of the separator by choosing options on the Home tab, or, to delete the separators, click Footnote Separator in the Footnotes list, and then select and delete the separator line.
