Dust, moisture and sunlight do somehow have their way with a diploma kept in a frame. It begins to fade and look old. The best way to preserve and protect a diploma is by keeping it in a diploma folder. It is prudent to buy a diploma holder of the best quality, preferably of leather.

This attitude gradually changes over the ensuing months and years, until eventually there comes a time when these student graduates have no idea what to do with this aged piece of paper. It is strongly recommended that old diplomas be kept and filed away, rather than tossed into the trash.

Your diploma should never be dry mounted, spray mounted, or otherwise permanently adhered to a board for framing. As with any important document, it should be hung within a mat opening, either from the top with archival tape or hinged to a conservation-quality backing board using archival mounting corners.

Keep It & File It Away The vast majority of people take their diplomas and store them away in a safe place soon after graduation. They typically file their diploma in the same folder as other important documents, such as their birth certificate, passport, and social security card.

Just place the certificates on a flat surface for example the kitchen table and put a book or magazine on top and then something heavy on top of the magzine. Leave overnight. Come back in the morning and it should be straightened out.
