Discard Table Title For Free

The <caption> tag defines a table caption. The <caption> tag must be inserted immediately after the <table> tag. Tip: By default, a table caption will be center-aligned above a table. However, the CSS properties text-align and caption-side can be used to align and place the caption.

Title: The table title appears one double-spaced line below the table number. Give each table a brief but descriptive title, and capitalize the table title in italic title case. headings: Tables may include a variety of headings depending on the nature and arrangement of the data.

Tables are read from the top down, so titles go above the body of the table and are left-justified. Column titles: The goal of column headings is to simplify and clarify the table, allowing the reader to understand the components of the table quickly.

Captions for tables are placed above the table (typically left aligned), and captions for figures are placed below the figure. NOTE: Titles for figures and graphs can be used for oral presentations and posters.

Set off the word 'Table' or 'Figure' and the number that follows in bold but keep the rest in normal font (neither bold nor italics). No punctuation is required between the number and the title: space alone is enough.

Click the table, Control-click the row number for row 1, then choose Hide Table Title or Show Table Title.

In the Table Style Options group, select the Header Row check box to hide or display the table headers.

Title the table; make sure the title relates to the data you will put in your table. The data table title is NOT a repeat of the research question; the title SHOULD be descriptive of the data contained in the table.

While it is not necessary for each table to have a caption, a caption is generally very helpful. If present, it should be associated to the table using the <caption> element.

Triple-click the name at the top of the table, then type a new name. To enclose the table title in a border, click the table, then in the Format sidebar, click the Table tab. Click the Table Outline pop-up menu, choose an outline style, then select the ?Outline Table Title? checkbox.
