In the left pane, select Advanced. On the right, scroll down to the 'Display options for this worksheet' section. From the drop down, select the worksheet in which you want to show the formulas instead of values. Check the option ? 'Show formulas in cells instead of their calculated results'.

Click the View tab. In the Show group, check the Formula bar option.

Use cell references in a formula Click the cell in which you want to enter the formula. In the formula bar. , type = (equal sign). Do one of the following, select the cell that contains the value you want or type its cell reference.Press Enter.

If you don't want the formulas hidden when the sheet is protected in the future, right-click the cells, and click Format Cells. On the Protection tab, clear the Hidden check box. Click on Formulas and then click on Show Formulas to switch between displaying formulas and results.
