Choose Document > Watermark > Add....Add a watermark through the user interface To reuse a watermark and watermark options that you saved in an earlier session, select it from the Saved Settings menu. Word's default behavior Click inside the cell where you want to position the picture file (first cell in the first row for this example). Click the Insert tab. Click Pictures in the Illustrations group. Use the Insert Pictures dialog to find and insert the picture.

To insert a watermark into a document on the Design tab, in the Page Background group, click the Watermark dropdown and select your required watermark. Select the Advanced Tab and scroll down in the settings to the option: Printing > Print Background Colors and Images, and then press OK. The watermark will now show when printed using the Print All and Print Selected buttons.

If inserting a watermark on some pages causes it to disappear on others, try using a custom watermark to put the watermark on all pages. Tip: If you already have a watermark, remove it, or you'll have two on the same page. Go to Design > Watermark > Custom Watermark.

Watermarking a document can prevent it from being misused by others; the good news is that watermarks can be added to an excel table.

You'll need to open the header to select the watermark. Double-click near the top of the page to open the header. Click the watermark to select it. (Try moving the cursor over the watermark until the cursor displays a four-headed arrow.) Drag the watermark where you want it on the page.
