Adding and Editing Text Some shapes will already have text on them. To edit this text, double-click on the area you want to edit. You can change font size, font type, color, and alignment in the Home tab. To add text to your work area as an independent object, click on the Text tool in the ribbon above the work area.

Go to app.diagrams.net. Click Arrange > Insert > Advanced > From Text. From the drop down selector next to the Close button, select Diagram. Select all of the sample text in the dialog and paste in your own text.

Add text to shapes, connectors, and pages to give diagrams more meaning. Select a shape or a connector.... Select Insert > Text Box. Select either Draw Horizontal Text Box or Vertical Text Box. Select the place on the drawing page where you want to add the text. Type in the text. Select a blank area of the drawing page.

Once your shape or shapes are selected, you can choose from the options under the Fill menu in the Home tab. To make picking color easier, this menu will show recent fill colors first then a selection of theme colors that coordinate with the current color scheme you have chosen.

Insert a text box on a chart Click the chart to which you want to add a text box. In the chart, click where you want to start a corner of the text box, and then drag until the text box is the size that you want. In the text box, type the text that you want. The text will wrap in the text box.
