Draw Footer Text For Free

To insert a header or footer: Select the Insert tab. Click either the Header or Footer command. A drop-down menu will appear. From the drop-down menu, select Blank to insert a blank header or footer, or choose one of the built-in options.

Go to Insert > Header or Footer. Choose from a list of standard headers or footers, go to the list of Header or Footer options, and select the header or footer that you want. Or, create your own header or footer by selecting Edit Header or Edit Footer. When you're done, select Close Header and Footer or press Esc.

Footers are located in the margin area at the bottom of a page. Headers and footers generally contain document information, such as the file name, author, date created, page numbering and the like. This information is repeated on each page and thus enables the reader to easily navigate the document.

When you need a different header of footer, the first step is to enter a section break as follows: Click the Page Layout tab. In the Page Setup group, choose the appropriate break option from the Breaks dropdown. In Word 2003, choose Break from the Insert menu. Choose a break from the resulting dialog and click OK.

Double-click the header or the footer area (near the top or bottom of the page). Go to Header & Footer > Field. In the Field names list, Select Page, and then select OK. To change the numbering format, go to Header & Footer > Page Number > Format Page Numbers.

Edit your existing headers and footers Double-click the header or footer you want to edit, or select Header or Footer, and then select Edit Header or Edit Footer. Add or change text for the header or footer or do any of the following:When you're done, select Close Header and Footer or press Esc.

AutoText Unavailable in Headers and Footers Make sure the Header and Footer toolbar is closed. Choose AutoText from the Insert menu, and then choose AutoText from the resulting submenu.At the bottom of the dialog box, make sure the Look In drop-down list is set to All Active Templates. Click OK.
