On the Home tab in the Ribbon, click the down arrow next to the number list button. In drop-down window that appears, select one of the numbered list options with letters. Type the text for the first lettered bullet item. Press Enter to add additional lettered bullet items.

To adjust list indents in Word: Select the bullets or numbers in the list.Right-click and select Adjust List Indents from the shortcut menu. When the small window appears, you can make changes to any or all of the following list indent settings:After making your changes, click OK.

From the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, select the Bullets drop-down list. Select Define New Bullet . Select a bullet character and alignment options, and click OK . The custom bullet is inserted.
