To highlight with the keyboard, move to the starting location using the arrow keys. Then, hold down the Shift key, and press the arrow key in the direction you want to highlight. Once everything you want is highlighted, let go of the Shift key.

Click on ?View & Edit Transcript. This will take you to the transcript in the Rev.com interface. The control panel is on the left side. From there you can play, back up 5 seconds or change the speed or volume.

Hover over the speaker name and click on the edit icon. Make changes either to a specific name or apply the changes to all the names in the entire transcript.

Underneath the playback bar, click the blue link that says Offset. This opens a pop-up that allows you to adjust the start time of your file, down to the second.When you click Apply, all timestamps in the transcript will shift to the new start time you set.

Highlighting tips Only highlight after you've reached the end of a paragraph or a section.Limit yourself to highlighting one sentence or phrase per paragraph.Highlight key words and phrases instead of full sentences.Consider color-coding: choose one color for definitions and key points and another color for examples.

How do I highlight a section of my transcript? To highlight, select a portion of text and press the Highlight key on the ribbon toolbar above your transcript. You will get a selection of colours to highlight with. You can also select the text you wish to highlight and use the keyboard shortcut CTRL + H.
