Establish Image Title For Free

Titles of all works of art (paintings, drawings, photographs, statues) should be in roman type with quotation marks. Names of television series are in italics.

Image title is basically the name of your image. Like alt text, it lets users and search engines know what's in the picture. Unlike alt text, the image title is not displayed when the image is missing or not loaded properly. Instead, it is displayed when the user hovers their mouse over the image.

The title isn't necessary for image SEO or for users with screen readers. It can be useful in some cases, though, as it lets you provide information when a user brings their mouse over the image.

The classic convention for titling an image is to identify the subject (name the person, place or thing) and add the date of creation: if it's a photograph use the date of exposure; if it's a painting use the date of completion; if it's a composite photograph default to the latter; if it's an image of a historic event

Note that the image title may be in italics instead of quotation marks if the work is a painting or photograph. If the image has no title, you can write a basic description of the image, without quotation marks, in its place.

The <title> tag in HTML is used to define the title of HTML document. It sets the title in the browser toolbar. It provides the title for the web page when it is added to favorites. It displays the title for the page in search engine results. Note: You can NOT have more than one <title> element in an HTML document.

What is Image Title Text? Image title text is an attribute used to provide additional information about the image. That being said, the image title is not used for search ranking, so it is not quite as important to optimize for.
