Establish Line Text For Free

There are two kinds of text that can be used in AutoCAD: Multiline and Single Line. You have more control over the appearance of Multiline Text and if you move the text, multiple lines stay grouped together. Single Line text is useful for writing out a collection of notes; each return creates a separate entity.

To add a line, follow these steps. On the Insert tab, select Shapes. Under Lines, select any line style you like. Select a location in the document, hold and drag your pointer to a different location, and then release the mouse button.

You can insert a line in a Word document by typing three characters that autocorrect into a line....Here's what you need to do: Place the cursor where you want the line to appear. Type the same character three times (see the list below for all the options). Press Enter. Autocorrect will turn it into a line.

The multi-line text variable creates a field that lets you enter multiple lines of text. The single-line text variable creates a field to enter a single line of text.
