Simple Page Breaks A simple page break will force all the text behind the cursor onto the next page. Below (Fig 3-6) is an example of what what two pages of a document might look like before inserting a simple page break.

Use page breaks to control where a page ends and where a new page begins. Place the cursor where you want to start a new page.

Put your cursor where you want one page to end and the next to begin. Go to Insert > Page Break.

Page Breaks/Section Breaks For page breaks, place the cursor at the end of the text before you want to insert the page break, and then click on Page (Go to Layout ribbon ? then open Breaks ? select Page). For section breaks, place cursor at the end of the text before you need the section break and click Next page.

Note: The page-break-after property cannot be used on absolutely positioned elements or an empty <div> element. Syntax: page-break-after: autoalwaysavoidleftrightinitialinherit; Default Value : Its default value is auto.

Page breaks are used to end a page without filling it with text. To make sure the title page of your thesis/dissertation is separate from the signature page, for example, insert a page break after the graduation date on the title page.

Go to Layout > Breaks > Page. Click or tap in the document where you want a page break. Go to Insert > Page Break.

Using page breaks, your text will retain the formatting of the previous page in your document. Using a page break will also ensure that the space between pages remains intact, whatever changes you make.

To create an HTML page break, you are supposed to divide the document into separate blocks using the CSS properties mentioned before. The HTML <br> element can only create a single break line between specific elements inside your HTML document.
