From 1 November 2019, gift cards and vouchers must be sold with a minimum three year expiry period and must clearly show the expiry date. If the card has an earlier expiry date written on it and is sold after this date, consumers will still get the mandatory three-year period.

Federal law stipulates that gift cards can only expire five years after purchase. Its value can be diminished if it's not used within 12 months, as fees can be charged for inactivity, dormancy, and service.

According to section 63 of the Consumer Protection Act, vouchers expire after a period of 3 years after the date on which they are issued. This can, however, be extended at the discretion of the retailer / supplier.

Vouchers are not redeemable for cash. If you only use part of your Allegiant voucher on a flight, you will be able to use the remaining credit voucher amount towards a new flight as long as travel is completed 1 year from the original itinerary booking date.

Voucher expiration dates cannot be extended. Cancellations of just the air ticket portion of an itinerary must be completed at least one (1) hour prior to scheduled departure; however, any remaining package items such as hotel, activities and auto will be forfeited.
