Watermarks are just objects anchored to the header. Double-click the header to activate the header/footer area, and then you will be able to select the watermark and change its properties, including resizing it. Was this reply helpful?

Right click the watermark image/text, and select Copy from the context menu. See screenshot: 3. Open the target document you will paste the watermark, and double click the header or footer area to activate the header and footer sections.

Put a watermark on all pages Go to Design > Watermark > Custom Watermark. Choose Picture Watermark and select a picture, or choose Text watermark and type your watermark text in the Text box. Select OK.

To insert a watermark into a document on the Design tab, in the Page Background group, click the Watermark dropdown and select your required watermark. This will appear on the first page of the document. If you want it to appear on every page in the document, from the Watermark dropdown, click Custom Watermark.

Text watermark Double-click near the top of the page to open the header. Move the cursor over the watermark until you see the four-headed arrow, and then click the watermark to select it. Under WordArt Tools, select Format. Select Shape Fill. Try: Selecting a lighter or darker shade.Select OK.

If it's a text watermark, you'll have the WordArt Tools tab available, and if it's a picture, you'll see the Picture Tools tab when the watermark is selected. If it's a text watermark, you can drag it to change its position on the page, but no other editing. If it's a picture, right-click and choose Format Picture.

Keeping your watermark in the corner with the opacity set to around 50% or less is a good idea. The most important thing to notice is that it looks professional. Watermarks distract when they're too bold, but also when they look shabby and as if they were made using Microsoft Paint.
