Federal law stipulates that gift cards can only expire five years after purchase. Its value can be diminished if it's not used within 12 months, as fees can be charged for inactivity, dormancy, and service.

Certificates are valid for 12 months from the issue date of your original ticket or 30 days from the date of exchange or cancellation, whichever is greater. Vouchers are valid for one year from the date issued.

Delta eCredits usually expire after one year from date of purchase (not from the date of the original flight).

Flight Credit is valid for 1 year from the date the ticket was issued. We will not extend or reissue past the expiration date. Invalid or expired Flight Credit will not be honored.

If your travel voucher is about to expire, the first thing that you should do is contact the airline that issued the voucher. Many airlines have been extending vouchers that were issued over the past two years. If the airline won't extend your voucher, you may still have options.

Certificates & eCredits You can use up to 5 eCredits per passenger. As a reminder, all existing eCredit holders will enjoy an additional year of flexibility for rebooking, allowing you to fly when you're ready. All eCredits will be able to be redeemed through December 31, 2023 for travel now through 2024.

According to section 63 of the Consumer Protection Act, vouchers expire after a period of 3 years after the date on which they are issued. This can, however, be extended at the discretion of the retailer / supplier.
