If you need to add additional data from the spreadsheet to the chart after it's created, you can adjust the source data area. Select the chart. In the worksheet, click a sizing handle for the source data and drag it to include the additional data. The new data needs to be in cells adjacent to the existing chart data.

Add other lines In the chart, select the data series that you want to add a line to, and then click the Chart Design tab. For example, in a line chart, click one of the lines in the chart, and all the data marker of that data series become selected. Click Add Chart Element, and then click Gridlines.

Resize a chart To change the size manually, click the chart, and then drag the sizing handles to the size that you want. To use specific height and width measurements, on the Format tab, in the Size group, enter the size in the Height and Width box.

Bar charts can be extended when we introduce a second categorical variable to divide each of the groups in the original categorical variable. If the bar values depict group frequencies, the second categorical variable can divide each bar's count into subgroups.

On the ribbon, click Chart Design and then click Select Data. This selects the data range of the chart and displays the Select Data Source dialog box. To edit a legend series, in the Legend entries (series) box, click the series you want to change. Then, edit the Name and Y values boxes to make any changes.
