Extend Text License For Free

The customer will be mailed an interim paper licence that will be valid for 90 days. Eligible extensions include routine renewals, reinstatement of a licence, and the replacement of a lost licence. Expiring BC Services Cards and BC Identification Cards are not eligible for phone renewals.

Your photocard must be renewed every 10 years, up to the age of 70. It's illegal to drive without a valid licence and, if you are caught driving without one: You can be fined up to £1,000 if you're stopped by police. You may face difficulties with car insurance.

You can renew an expired licence online up to a year after the expiration date. After one year, you will need to visit one of the in person ServiceOntario locations to renew. You cannot drive if is expired and you risk being fined.

If you reside in Gauteng or parts of the Eastern Cape Metropolitans where this is applicable, unfortunately, you'll need to use the online licence booking system known as NaTis. There is now an online booking fee of R250, plus an additional fee of R22, which goes to the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC).

To renew your licence: Book an appointment to renew your licence at an ICBC driver licensing office up to six months (180 days) before your licence expires. Renewing early won't shorten its validity. Bring two pieces of accepted ID. Pay the fee for your new licence. Find out if your card is in the mail while you wait.

Once your G1, G2, M1, M2 or M2 with L condition licence expires, you cannot renew it. If you book a road test prior to your expiry date, you may be able to get an extension until your road test date. Contact a DriveTest centre for more information.
