Use your Font dialog box shortcuts in Word to cross out text (PC only) To remove a strikethrough in Word, simply select the text and either use the shortcut again to remove it or hit Ctrl + Spacebar to remove all formatting. Ctrl + Spacebar reverts your text formatting back to the default formatting of your document.

When you have your text selected, look on the Home tab of Word's Ribbon. In the Font group, click the Strikethrough button (it's the three letters with a line drawn through them). Now, any text you had selected should be struck through.

To remove the strikethrough, select all the text by dragging your cursor through it and then go to Format > Text > Strikethrough. When you repeat the strikethrough on text that already has that formatting, the strikethrough will be removed rather than added. You could also try Format > Clear formatting.

The standard way to use the strikethrough feature is to select the text you want to strikethrough and then select the strikethrough feature on the home tab. However, Word also has shortcuts that you can use to achieve the same thing. Press CTRL + D.

Using your cursor, highlight the entire document, or the parts of the document you want to see without the line. Click on Format, and then on Font. In the Font tab, uncheck the box next to Strikethrough. This will remove the line covering the text.

Simply select your text (or the cell with your text in it) and hit Ctrl + 5. Hitting the Ctrl + 5 shortcut once applies the text effect. Hitting Ctrl + 5 a second time removes the text effect. If you don't want to memorize the shortcut, you can also access the strikethrough command through the Format Cells dialog box.

To remove the strikethrough from a piece of text, hover over the text with your mouse and click the trash can icon that appears above. If you accidentally remove a comment, you will be able to undo the change by clicking Undo in the notification that appears upon.
