Photo licenses are a form of a contract between the photographer and person who wants to use the photography. Just like in any line of work, it grants and restricts the rights of which an image can be used.

Fair Use comes allows you to use an image based on three conditions. First is if it used for limited non-profit and educational use. Second is if it is changed so drastically that it no longer has the same meaning or purpose, and third is if it is used informatively for the public good.

The Shutterstock Standard License is the most basic Shutterstock royalty-free license that covers 95% of all use-cases. It is included with images purchased through subscriptions and standard image packs and allows you to use them for commercial purposes, but limits you to 500,000 copies and a $10,000 indemnity.

The purpose and character of your use It is fair use to display images to convey a scholarly argument or to convey information. The transformative factor: if you use images and create a new work by creating new aesthetics, new insights, and understandings, the law has considered it fair use.
