Change the color, size, or format of bullets or numbers in a list Click a bullet or number in the list that you want to change.On the Home tab, under Paragraph, click the arrow next to Bullets or Numbering. Bullets are used in place of numbers when the order of the items in the list is not important. There are many forms of bullets to choose from. Right-click, and then click Adjust List Indents. Change the distance of the bullet indent from the margin by clicking the arrows in the Bullet position box, or change the distance between the bullet and the text by clicking the arrows in the Text indent box.

How to use bullet points Make sure all items in the list are related to each other. Use the same font and margin width in each bulleted point. Keep bullet points short, preferably no more than three lines long. Begin all items with the same part of speech (active verbs work well) and make sure they are in parallel form.
