Fix Page Break Document For Free

Page breaks allow you to have more control over the layout of your document. You might use a page break if you're writing a paper that has a title page or a bibliography to ensure it starts on a new page.

Click under the page break. On your keyboard, press Backspace or Delete until the page break is removed.

Remove a page break from a Word document On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click Show/Hide to show all formatting marks including page breaks. Double-click the page break to select it, then press Delete. Click Show/Hide again to hide the remaining formatting marks in the document.

You may need to press the Backspace or Delete key more than once if there are additional spaces before or after the page break. Alternatively, click at the end of the final paragraph before the page break. Press Delete on Windows or Fn+Delete on Mac. You may need to repeat this to remove any additional spaces.

A page break is an intentional division between pages in a Microsoft Word document. When you type a document with more than a page of words, Microsoft Word's default formatting moves the text to a new page after filling the first page. As you add or delete information, the text might move from one page to another.

This behavior can occur when you insert a Continuous section break into the same page in which you have inserted a footnote, and the section break appears after the footnote. The new page is created to prevent footnotes (or endnotes) from two different sections of the document from being displayed on the same page.

On the View tab, in the Workbook Views group, click Page Break Preview. on the status bar. On the Page Layout tab, in the Page Setup group, click Breaks. Click Reset All Page Breaks.

To remove a page break you added in manually, click the Home tab. Click Show/Hide ¶ to display the page breaks in your document. Find the manual page break you want to remove and double click the page break to highlight it. Finally, hit the Delete or Backspace key to remove it.
