Graph Footnote Deed For Free

Your figures must be appropriately titled. All graphs, diagrams and images should be titled as Figures. These will be numbered consecutively throughout the dissertation: Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3, and so on. After the numbering, there should be a short and concise title.

From the menus, choose Edit > Add Graph Footnote. A text box containing <FOOTNOTE> is displayed below the graph. Verify that you are in Edit mode.

Footnote is explanatory text related to the data displayed by the graph. For additional information on displaying and formatting titles and labels for a graph, see Creating titles and labels. Legend displays the markers and labels that distinguish each series on a graph.

Captions should be concise but comprehensive. They should describe the data shown, draw attention to important features contained within the figure, and may sometimes also include interpretations of the data. Figures are typically read from the bottom up, so captions go below the figure and are left-justified.

Select Format tool bar and then click the Text box which is under insert shapes option to insert text box anywhere on the chart area. Now, draw the text box anywhere in the chart area. Enter the note content which you need in the text box. We can use the Format options like size, colour, font, bold, underline etc.

The title should be a concise description of what is being graphed (e. g., ?Pressure as a Function of Temperature for Nitrogen?). Usually you do not need to describe in the title the units used in the graph, but there are some instances where this is necessary.

Required bar graph titles include the name of the graph, the title of the vertical axes, and the title of the horizontal axes. It is important to title bar graphs carefully so the information makes sense and the graph is easy to read and understand. Name the bar graph.
