Reflecting customer unease at the prospect of an imminent deprecation of the Azure AD Graph API on June 30, 2022, Microsoft has pushed the date out to the end of 2022.

In analysis, an endpoint is one of the two points at the boundary of a closed interval or the single point at the closed end of a half-closed interval. In graph theory, an endpoint is a vertex of a graph that has vertex degree 1 (Harary 1994, p. 15).

Microsoft will continue to retire the Azure AD Graph and MSOnline PowerShell licensing assignment APIs and PowerShell cmdlets on August 26, 2022. Please migrate your apps to access the license managements APIs from Microsoft Graph.

All Microsoft support and development for ADAL, including security fixes, ended on June 30, 2023.

Microsoft Graph PowerShell is the replacement for the Azure AD PowerShell and MSOnline modules and is recommended for interacting with Azure AD.

Microsoft Graph exposes two types of permissions for the supported access scenarios: Delegated permissions: Also called scopes, allow the application to act on behalf of the signed-in user. Application permissions: Also called app roles, allow the app to access data on its own, without a signed-in user.

The Azure AD Graph API offers access to only Azure AD services.For this reason, Azure AD Graph has been on a deprecation path since June 30, 2020, and will be retired on June 30, 2022. After June 30, 2022, your apps will no longer receive responses from the Azure AD Graph endpoint.

Does the API use GraphQL? No while the Microsoft Graph name may confuse some, the API itself is a normal REST API and doesn't use GraphQL at this point in time.
