How to send text to multiple contacts without group message through Android Open your phone's default text messaging app. Tap on 'new message' or '+' ing to your phone's design. In the recipient box, add all the contacts you wish to send the message to. Add the message. Hit Send.

Remember, you can name group iMessages, but not SMS/MMS group messages. To name a group text message, everyone needs to be using an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

While iMessage does allow users to name a group text and even add a group photo, this only works if all the members of the group have an iPhone or iPad. If even one member uses an Android device, the group text cannot be named. Instead, the group text will just display the names of the members on top.

Open up the Messages app and tap 'Start Chat'. Then tap 'Create a group' and select the contacts you want to add from your phone's address book (or you can add numbers manually). When you're done, tap 'Next' and add your group name (optional). You can then send SMS messages to all recipients in the group.
