$TICK and $ADD measure the 2,800 traded stocks on the NYSE.Maximum values for $TICK are usually in the +1,000 to +1,200 and -1,000 to -1,200 area with 1,500 and -1,500 considered extremes. $ADD has extremes that are generally at +2,000 and -2,000 but higher and lower values are also seen.

Accumulation Distribution looks at the proximity of closing prices to their highs or lows to determine if accumulation or distribution is occurring in the market. The proximity value is multiplied by volume to give more weight to moves with higher volume.
