Tables should be: Labeled with the table number and descriptive title above the table. Labeled with column and/or row labels that describe the data, including units of measurement. Set apart from the text itself; text does not flow around the table.

The number (e.g., Table 1 or Figure 1) appears above the table or figure in the left-margin and in bold. The title is one double-space below the table number in italicized font. The caption is descriptive, double-spaced, and appears immediately underneath the table or figure.

Write " Figure " or " Table " in bold font, flush left, followed by the number, for example, Figure 1. Write the figure/table title using italic case below the figure/table number, Double-space the figure/table number and title, Embed image.

The title should clearly and straightforwardly describe the content of the table or figure. Omit articles to keep it concise. The table or figure number appears on its own line, in bold, followed by the title on the following line, in italics and title case.

Write the word "Table" and the number in bold and flush left if the table is found in the main text. If a table is found in an appendix, give each one a number preceded by the letter of the appendix in which it appears (e.g., Table A1 is the first table within Appendix A).

There are two options for the placement of tables & figures in a paper. Place all tables & figures on separate pages after the reference list (with each table on a separate page followed by each figure on a separate page). Embed each table & figure within the text after its first callout.
