How do you use a bullet list? Write a strong headline that groups associated items together. Format each bullet point the same way, including font and margin before the point. Use the same part of speech at the beginning of the bullet point. Keep the bullet points brief.

On the Home tab in the Ribbon, click the down arrow next to the number list button. In drop-down window that appears, select one of the numbered list options with letters. Type the text for the first lettered bullet item. Press Enter to add additional lettered bullet items.
