Living Will Hide Required Fields For Free

You can hide an element in CSS using the CSS properties display: none or visibility: hidden. display: none removes the entire element from the page and mat affect the layout of the page. visibility: hidden hides the element while keeping the space the same.

If you are not in the form editing mode, choose Tools > Prepare Form. In the right hand pane under Fields or the page view, select the form fields that you want to delete. Right-click and choose Delete, or choose Edit > Delete.

Drag and drop the LX_KNA1 subform to the layout. The layout will be designed as shown below. Now drag a check box and a text field to the layout. Our functionality is to make the text field visible only when the user selects the check box.

The HTML <input type=hidden> is used to define a input Hidden field. A hidden field also includes those data that could not be seen or modified by the users when submitted the form. A hidden field only stores those database records that need to be updated when submitting the form.

The Javascript uses jQuery to change the DOM depending on the selections made. Essentially, depending on the conditions of a field answer, you can bulk turn show/hide other components of the form. For validation purposes, some extra attributes are changed depending on the selection.

You hide the field, by opening its property dialog, go to the General tab, and then change "visible" to "hidden" in the field property dropdown. That should do it. If you want to be double sure, make the field read-only as well.
