LoadImage is a pre-defined Processing function that reads an image file from your program's data folder. If the file can't be found, then you will get a run-time error from Processing telling you that the file is either missing or inaccessible.

The image() function draws an image to the display window. Images must be in the sketch's "data" directory to load correctly. Select "Add file..." from the "Sketch" menu to add the image to the data directory, or just drag the image file onto the sketch window. Processing currently works with GIF, JPEG, and PNG images.

Images on a webpage can be loaded either using <img> tags or CSS background property. Images are loaded using the <img> tag. The browser uses the src attribute to trigger image load. The images are loaded as soon as the browser receives the src attribute.

The simplest way to load an image is to use the HTML <img> tag. This tag requires only a single src attribute (which points to the image location), and doesn't even need to be closed (see Example 7-1 and Figure 7-1).

A load image is an object file which contains the load addresses and initialized sections of one or more executable files. The load image object file can be used for ROM masking or can be relinked in a subsequent link step.

The Load Image module loads in an external image file (ppm, gif, jpg, etc) from your filesystem and overwrites the current image within the processing pipeline with that image.
