Parental Controls remain on regardless of age unless and until they are turned off by whoever set them or knows the Screen Time password for them. The 13 age limit only applies to being able to remove the account from a Family Sharing group.

Google One app On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google One app . Tap Menu. Settings. Tap Manage family settings. Manage family group. Tap Manage parent privileges. Choose someone to add or remove as a parent. Tap Remove.

Turn photo sharing on or off Open the Family Link app . Select your child. Tap Controls Content restrictions. Google Photos. Turn Photo sharing on or off.

Important: On your child's device, open Settings . Tap Google Parental controls . Tap Get started Child or teen Next. Select your child's account or create a new one for them. Tap Next Sign in with your (parent) account. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up supervision on your child's account.

Google Family Link only works with Google accounts for children under 13 created via the Family Link app. Once a child turns 13, they can continue to use Family Link if they choose to do so.

Children are still in the family group, but can choose to leave. Location Sharing will be off, and children can decide if they want to turn it on again. Children won't be able to use YouTube Kids with their Google Account anymore. Videos and channels that were previously blocked might be available to watch in the app.

Add supervision to your child's existing Google Account. If you get the same error again, you may need to quit the Family Link app, wait a few minutes, and try again. Note: If your child received an email for you to provide your consent to their account, ask them to follow the instructions in the email.

You can remove your child's Google account from Family Link by following these steps: Access the accounts page on the Family Link app on your device or the Google Family page. Select Menu > Account > Family > Manage Family Members. Tap the name of the child you want to remove, then tap More > Remove Member > Remove.
