Law schools use LSAT scores as one component of a holistic admission process that considers many factors related to each candidate. LSAC conducts research for individual schools on how LSAT scores and other applicant credentials correlate to student performance at their school.

Most ABA-approved law schools accept ? and many require ? the authentication and evaluation (A&E) feature included in LSAC's Credential Assembly Service (CAS); however, some schools require a different service.

Over the years, we have heard a number of pervasive myths discussed as people attempt to compare one particular LSAT administration to another, perhaps the most common of which is that one test is typically easier, harder, or somehow different than the others. The test will have three scored sections ? one section each of Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Reading Comprehension ? and a fourth, unscored variable section that will allow LSAC to validate new test questions for future use.
