Today, the Communications Workers of America (CWA) and three workers filed a class action lawsuit against T-Mobile US, Amazon.com, Inc.

Under the settlement, each claim will be valued at $700 or the actual amount of the claim ? whichever is greater ? up to a maximum of $10,000. In order to receive a payment from the settlement, class members must submit a valid claim form by Dec. 23, 2022.

On Thursday, January 19, 2023, wireless company T-Mobile announced that bad actors had breached their systems in November of 2022 and gained access to the personal information of 37 million current T-Mobile customers.

The settlement allows plaintiffs to be reimbursed for up to $25,000 in out-of-pocket expenses and lost time that is traceable to the T-Mobile data breach. It also allows them to enroll in two years' worth of identity protection services at no cost and provides restoration services for those facing identity theft.

On October 14 , 2022, the Court granted Final Approval to the parties' $63,000,000 Settlement. The Final Approval Order is posted on the Documents page of this site. The claim filing deadline was December 23, 2022.
