Manipulate Columns Title For Free

When you group columns in Excel, you have the option of giving the group a name. This can be helpful if you want to be able to easily identify the group later on. To name your group, simply type the name you want to use into the "Name" field under "Group Properties" and then click "OK."

You can try right clicking on the column header in your table and select edit alias, you can then name whatever you want. Feel free to use the measure name in my example ;-). Hope this helps.

Renaming can either be done at the data source level or the on the data pane. In the data source, one can use the drop down or double click methods. Drop Down & Rename: click on the drop down on top of the field name, select rename, rename and click enter.

Right-click the header of the column that needs a title. It will likely say No Measure Name. Select Edit Alias. Type the new title and then click OK.

Workbook Click the letter of the column you want to change and then click the "Formulas" tab. Click "Define Name" in the Defined Names group in the Ribbon to open the New Name window. Enter the new name of the column in the Name text box.

If you want to create a header that spans multiple columns, you can do so by typing the text you want to use for your header in the first column and then pressing Ctrl+Shift+Enter. Excel will automatically create a header column that spans multiple columns.

By default, Excel uses the A1 reference style, which refers to columns as letters (A through IV, for a total of 256 columns), and refers to rows as numbers (1 through 65,536). These letters and numbers are called row and column headings. To refer to a cell, type the column letter followed by the row number.

Tap the Data icon. If you don't see the Data icon, tap the Edit or preview icon. In the Data panel, tap the Menu icon for the column that you want to modify, and tap Properties. In the Label box, enter a new column heading.

Click the worksheet where you want to choose header and footer options. On the Insert tab, in the Text group, click Header & Footer. Excel displays the worksheet in Page Layout view. Click the left, center, or right header or footer text box at the top or the bottom of the worksheet page.

Select a column, and then select Transform > Rename. You can also double-click the column header. Enter the new name.
