The signing process uses an encryption algorithm to combine the URL and your shared secret. The resulting unique signature allows our servers to verify that any site generating requests using your API key is authorized to do so.

Paper maps are static, and are limited to a specific area that has been drawn ing to a scale. A certain level of skill is required in order to interpret these maps due to the signs and symbols that are used to represent objects in the area. These maps are created with more detail and research than digital maps.

Go to the Google Maps Platform > Credentials page. On the Credentials page, click Create credentials > API key. The API key created dialog displays your newly created API key. Click Close.

Dynamic map which is an interactive object. The user can freely pan, zoom or switch map layers. A web page or application displays a map using JavaScript. Static map which is just an image added to the webpage with simple HTML. It is not interactive, which means no panning, zooming or changing map layers.

Getting started Go to the Google Cloud Console. Click the Select a project button, then select the same project you set up for the Maps JavaScript API and click Open. Static Maps are the simplest way to show a map on a website or mobile application because they don't require a mapping library or SDK and can be displayed anywhere images can, including in applications or UIs where interactive maps can't be integrated.

Static maps are generally what you find out in the physical world. Examples include everything from maps at hiking trailheads to maps of stores inside a mall to maps displayed as an image in a PowerPoint presentation.
