Remember that in a one-to-many merge, there is a file that has one observation that matches to many observations in the other file; let us refer to these as the one file and the many file.

The merge operation compares two or more sequenced files and combines them in sequential order. You have access to output procedures, used after merging, that can modify the output records using the MERGE? OUTPUT PROCEDURE statement.
