Belonging, Being & Becoming: The Early Years Learning Framework is a guide to supporting and nurturing children's learning from birth to 5 years, including the transition to school.

While the factors that promote belonging vary by person and personality, there are recurring themes within our data, which come together to form four foundational areas: connection, inclusion, support, and autonomy.

The EYFS curriculum has been mandatory since 2008, and sets standards in learning and welfare for any provider caring for children aged from birth to 5. It was introduced in response to research that highlighted the role good quality childcare plays in supporting children's learning and development.
